Greenway Section Reopened at Ponte Crenna

Following the flooding caused by the overflow of the Staffora stream, which eroded a section of the Voghera-Varzi Greenway cycle-pedestrian path in the Ponte Crenna area of Bagnaria on March 10th, Regione Lombardia carried out repairs to the riverside defenses using stone and cyclopean boulders. Subsequently, the utility companies Romeo Gas S.p.A. (gas network) and Pavia Acque (water network) restored the related underground services in recent weeks.

Once these interventions were completed, the Province of Pavia immediately proceeded with restoring the damaged path section.

The section is now open and passable, though for about 100 meters it runs on a gravel road, awaiting the normal settling of the roadbed. It will be asphalted again by early autumn.
