Salice Terme – Varzi Trail Section

The Salice Terme–Varzi stretch continues the Greenway from the renowned spa town. With gentle gradients, the route climbs the hills and highlands of the Oltrepò Pavese Apennines, ascending the Staffora Valley — the westernmost of the Oltrepò — near the Curone Valley in Piedmont.

The 19 km stretch after Salice Terme crosses the municipalities of Godiasco Salice Terme, Cecima, Ponte Nizza, Bagnaria, and Varzi. The trail is mostly off-road, with just two short shared segments in Salice Terme and Bagnaria. It features mild slopes, making it suitable for all users.

A New-Generation Greenway

This final stretch results from a project strongly promoted by the Province of Pavia to offer citizens a fully accessible and innovative trail. The route includes rest areas with benches, recycling bins, bike racks, informational panels, picnic tables, and wooden safety railings.
