The Voghera–Varzi Greenway

The Voghera–Varzi Greenway

At the foot of the Lombard Apennines, where the flat Po Valley gives way to gentle hills covered with vineyards and forests, lies the Greenway Voghera–Varzi: a cycling and walking route created from the recovery of an old railway line, now transformed into a greenway immersed in the nature of the Oltrepò Pavese.

The route winds through cultivated fields, historic villages, and striking landscapes, offering a sustainable experience suitable for everyone: families, cyclists, and hikers. It crosses a borderland where Lombard, Piedmontese, Ligurian, and Emilian traditions blend, creating a unique cultural and food-and-wine heritage.

The Greenway is divided into two sections: the first, mostly flat, connects Voghera to Salice Terme; the second, more hilly, leads to Varzi through the Staffora Valley. Along the way, visitors encounter nature, history, and local flavors, with traditional products and authentic scenic views.

Easily reachable by train, car, or bicycle, the Greenway Voghera–Varzi is the perfect starting point to discover a land full of charm and experiences.
