Salice Terme-Varzi: work begins on the final stretch

Following last autumn’s presentation, restoration work has begun in earnest on the former Voghera–Varzi railway route, specifically the section from Salice Terme to Varzi. This marks the creation of the second section of the Voghera–Varzi Greenway, a cycling and walking path that invites visitors to explore the Oltrepò Pavese area by following the Staffora Valley ridge from Voghera to the ancient medieval village of Varzi, once the Malaspina family’s capital in the Lombard Apennines.

This website will soon feature regular updates and insights into the ongoing construction work. The project involves both the installation of a new aqueduct—designed by Pavia Acque to connect the upper hills to the plains—and the restoration of the railway path itself, which will become the Greenway Voghera–Varzi.
